Workshop leader Jane Frost will take you through all the techniques necessary to make your piece. You will use different coloured willow and a variety of techniques to create this beautiful sculpture for your home or garden.

Description

Willow weaving is a great way to learn about traditional techniques and natural materials. Share the company of family or make new friends while learning on the day.

Make a butterfly, bee or dragonfly, perfect for the setting of an eco campsite.  You’ll learn some basic techniques to make a fluid form sculpture with two different coloured willows.

In the perfect setting of the Mad Hatters Campsite near Ely in the Cambridgeshire fens, Jane will take you through all the techniques necessary to make your piece and everyone will go home with a finished sculpture they can be proud of.

Workshop 10a.m. – 4p.m. £65 per person. Maximum 8 places enable a really good learning experience. All tools and materials are supplied.

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and those who have done some willow weaving before. All tools and materials are supplied. 

Jane has experience teaching all age groups with a variety of needs. This workshop is suitable for everyone over the age of 11, children must be accompanied by a parent or carer at all times.

Additional things you might like to bring; Notebook, pens or pencil, Garden Wire, Scissors and String, Sharp Knife – Stanley or Craft, Gardening gloves. Remember to wear comfortable clothing such as you might wear for gardening, sandals are not advisable.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

You will need to have a reasonable amount of strength and dexterity in your hands to be able to work with the willow. Please wear older clothes, such as you would wear for gardening, sandals are not advisable.

Willow needs to be prepared at least a week in advance for each workshop, therefore if workshops are cancelled or postponed due to unforeseen circumstances, bookings will be transferred to alternative dates. No refunds will be given.
